Privacy Policy

The short version: earlybed collects nothing. There is no server for us to send your data to, no analytics SDK watching what you tap, no advertising identifier, and no account to link it all to. Your bedtime and sleep log live entirely on your device and never leave it because of anything we did. If that ever changes, this page changes first — and we'd tell you loudly.
1. What we do not collect
earlybed does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on our side:
- Your name, email, or any contact detail (there's no sign-up).
- Your bedtime, check-ins, streaks, or any sleep data.
- Your location, contacts, photos, or microphone.
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs (IDFA), or usage analytics.
- Crash or diagnostic telemetry sent to us.
2. Data that stays on your device
Everything earlybed needs to work is stored locally in the app's own database on your iPhone:
- Your settings — goal bedtime, notification on/off, and reminder offset.
- Your sleep log — one record per night: the date, when you tapped "I'm in bed," and any optional "fell asleep" time you logged.
This data never leaves your device through earlybed. We have no way to read it, and no server that could receive it.
3. Notifications
If you enable them, earlybed schedules a single local reminder through Apple's UserNotifications framework. It fires on your device. Nothing is sent to or from our servers (we don't have any push servers). The notification content is generated on-device.
4. Purchases and tips
Optional in-app purchases ("Support the watchdog" treats — coffee, pizza, cake) are consumable and processed entirely by Apple through App Store / StoreKit. We never see your name, card details, or Apple ID. Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. The app keeps no record of your purchases at all — not on a server (we have none), not on your device. You get a thank-you; the watchdog gets a treat; that's the whole transaction.
5. Backups (your choice, not ours)
If you have iCloud backup or device backup enabled, iOS may include the app's local database in your encrypted backup. That is an Apple OS feature that operates under your iCloud settings — earlybed does not transmit anything itself, and turning off backups is controlled in your iOS settings.
6. Children
earlybed is a general-purpose app and collects no personal data from anyone, including children. Because there is nothing to collect, there is nothing to review for a child's privacy under COPPA or the EU GDPR-K. If you're a parent, there's genuinely no data trail here.
7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / etc.)
These laws let you request access to or deletion of your data. With earlybed, both are trivial: we hold none of your data. Anything on your device is yours to delete at any time — use "Reset all sleep data" in Settings, or simply uninstall the app, and it's gone. There is nothing for you to ask us to delete, and no data portability request for us to fulfil, because nothing ever reached us.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change earlybed in a way that affects this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. Substantive changes will be plainly stated, not buried.
